In what Supervisor Linda Puglisi has called "a home run for everybody," Cortlandt is now the owner of a 100-acre parcel in Verplanck. The Town Board voted in 2014 to purchase the land from Con Edison for $2.74 million in a bid to thwart a proposed electric converter station.
